Town of Brooklyn hosts candidates’ forum

Town of Brooklyn residents will have a chance to meet and question candidates for local offices at a candidates’ forum at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 18, at Town Hall.

Three out of five elected positions in town feature contested races on the April 2 ballot.

Alistair Carr and Jim Scrivner will vie for Town Chair, Jeffrey McNeeley and Cathy Cryor Burgweger will face off for first supervisor, and Dan Meixelsperger will challenge incumbent Melinda Carr for town clerk.

Running unopposed are John H. Davis, second supervisor, and Russell Cichy, town treasurer.

Monday’s forum will allow all candidates to introduce themselves and detail their hopes and concerns for town government. The moderator will prepare two or three questions for the candidates and audience members can ask questions, too.
